All original
scratch boards are black and white. Prints of the originals are
hand colored by me, using Prisma colored pencils.
The
scratchboard art prints below are 10" x
12".
They will come in envelopes. The 10" x 12" prints are suitable
for framing and are available for $10.00 each. I also offer note

Using a professional grade scratch board
11''X14'' inkless. I tape the scratch board evenly around all sides to a
drawing board. Then using a soft
# 6 brush, I carefully brush india ink in straight strokes clear across the scratch board. I try to
keep each brush stroke even and not over lapping. This will give you an
even coat that will not chip.
The subject I am going to scratch is first drawn on news print
paper then I rub the back of
the drawing with an ebony pencil, this gives me a graphite transfer. The drawing is then
traced onto the scratch board leaving
a silver line on the black surface which you can follow while scratching. I use a #4 exacto knife
and some times a sewing straight pin.
After the image is completed paint a second coat of ink in the black areas this will give the
work a very finished look. |
